Sailing is fun

Our Amel Meltem

Rode Trip is currently in the Western Med where she is getting an overhaul of all her systems. From the Yanmar engine to the Onan generator, windvane, and all plumbing and electrical.

This an extensive projet, learn more more about our Amel Meltem,  the history of the  Meltem line of boats here or the evolution of the beautiful sail yachts produced by Amel.

Racing Lasers

The Laser is the ultimate single handed Olympic Sailboat. To be successful you need to be young, very fit, and extremely fit.

If you feel like it, join us and come racing with the San Francisco Laser Fleet.

Needless to say it is getting harder and harder…

Grand Prix Racing

The owners are rich and famous, and I am neither. You have to be skilled at something: navigation, tactics, speed. Or just be nice and make the sandwiches…

This is with my friend Daniel on his JPK during the Round Corsica race…

The Bay is always cold, sunny and windy.

Here we are blasting through the Bay near Alcatraz Penitenciary.

I have to admit, I like warm and pristine waters and remote anchorages.

Like this one in a remote Minorca Cala of the Balearic Islands in 1981…

Maintenance is not always fun but important

You just dropped that unique screwdriver in the bilge, and the cell phone that was in your shirt pocket falls as well in the oily slime, just as you were so close to grab it.

Heavy maintenance is not always that bad BUT if done well it will save your life…

On “Rode Trip” the Yanmar 125HP is a massive beast in the middle of the engine compartment.

In 2021 we replaced a lot of parts…
